Vineyards Country Club has started construction activities for the redesign and renovation of its 18-hole, Mark McCumber-designed championship North golf course.
Known for its ample landing areas, rolling greens and picturesque winding layout, the links-style north course has been a cornerstone of Vineyards Country Club since opening in 1989.
Following the successful completion of renovations to its 18-hole south course in December 2023, attention now turns to the comprehensive redesign, renovation and irrigation reconstruction of the north course, led by the renowned golf course architect Kipp Schulties. Anticipated completion is slated for December 2024.
“The improvements we are embarking upon will elevate Vineyards Country Club’s golfing experience to unprecedented heights,” chairman and co-owner Michael Procacci Jr. said. “Since our inception in 1988, the ethos of our club has been to provide our members with an unparalleled experience while also being a cherished neighbor within the community. Our commitment to excellence remains steadfast.”
Key aspects of the renovation plan include expanding the course’s yardage from the professional tees to transform it into a championship-level layout. The project also involves rebuilding and enlarging the greens to accommodate a variety of pin locations, as well as recontouring the fairways to enhance playability and pace of play while offering challenges suitable for golfers of all skill levels. The completed course will feature aesthetic improvements to differentiate it from the South course, such as natural Florida waste areas, stone cap walls and two wood bridges.
Leading the renovation project is Plant City-based QGS Development, in collaboration with Kipp Schulties Golf Design, both regarded for their expertise in crafting exceptional golfing experiences.
A detailed timeline of the renovation process, including course closing and reopening dates, is available at the club’s website.
